Last month, after almost two years of travel restrictions, a few members of our team had the pleasure of attending MINExpo in Las Vegas. Under any other circumstance, I would have been excited to venture across the world to see mining’s biggest and newest innovations, but unlike before, I was coming from what seemed like an eternity of being disconnected. As I’m sitting here writing this letter, I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunity to have been able to not only board a plane and leave the continent I’ve been anchored to for almost 700 days, but to reconnect with former colleagues, technology partners, friends, and members of the mining family. To see what innovations have come out of the past couple of challenging years was reassuring that, while we may have been in a global lockdown, our creativity and ingenuity was still hard at work. It reminded me that GRIT is still alive and well in all of us.
The highlight of the trip was our networking event. If you weren’t able to attend, I hope you’ve heard the chatter by now. With the help of some of our core technology partners, we treated our customers to an evening at the Hard Rock Cafe, with food, drinks, music, and most of all celebrating the chance to come together once again. What we didn’t expect was that the party would well exceed capacity, and then some! Showgirls greeted our guests, food and drinks kept flowing, the live music was fantastic, and we were even serenaded karaoke-style with “Folsom Prison Blues” by some talented members of our technology partner, Conspec! Needless to say, we had a great time, and are humbled by all the support and grateful for the friendships that are the backbone of the industry we all call home.
As we enter the last quarter of 2021, I’m once again reminded that it is our GRIT that keeps us thriving: Great products — Reliable Service — Integrated Solutions — and Trusted Performance. There are only a few more months of 2021 left – let’s dig deep, finish strong, and with passion and perseverance, leave every last ounce of GRIT on the table.
