Practical Rock Mechanics for Underground Mines
RAMJACK Technology Solutions and Mine Design Engineering are proud to be offering a 4-Day Short Course on Practical Rock Mechanics for Underground Mines at the Glenhove Conference Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa coming up August 14 – 17, 2017.
This four-day course is designed for leaders in the mining industry who are interested in expanding their knowledge of geomechanics and rock engineering and applying the latest instrumentation technology to improve safety and efficiency in the underground mining process. The course will take a comprehensive look at current rock mechanics theory, as well as an in-depth discussion of instrumentation types and design.
Presenters Dr. W. F. Bawden and Dr. K. Kalenchuk have more than 50 years of combined experience in the mining industry, with a focus on geomechanics and rock engineering. Both bring excellent experiential insights into the mining industry, as well as knowledge about the current challenges and opportunities available.
This short course in practical rock mechanics for underground mines will provide three days of rock mechanics theory specific to the mining industry, while the fourth day will explore instrumentation procedures, data collection, and case studies relating to implementation.
Interested parties should send their registration inquiries via email to: [email protected], with early-bird registration ending June 15, 2017. Those who register early will receive the discounted course registration cost of R 9,850, while standard registration costs are R 12,500 per person.
